Please see here our Roomba 555 Robot Vacuum Cleaner dancing on cleaning the table. The Roomba is equiped with a whole array of sensors which prevent it from falling down stairs and crashing hard into walls.

To be honest, we bought the Roomba vacuum cleaner as a gadget and I thought it would be just another adventure which wouldn’t last that long. When I pulled it out of the box I was already surprised but the solid and professional looking robot and now after it’s first week it’s still going strong.

The Roomba is not a full replacement for your normal vacuum cleaner, but it does replace it for I would say 90 percent. Since the robot is around 9 centimetres in height it gently vacuums under our saloon table, couches and beds as well. Something we always tend to forget to vacuum.

We only have linoleum and wooden floors in our house and a mob is still required, but that’s on the list for next year, the Roomba floor washing robot. If you see it cleaning the first time it’s really lots of fun to watch but the 555 is also programmable. After the vacuum is done it drives back to it’s charging station.

Improvements? It still struggles a bit with cables laying on the floor but in general, it’s a welcome addition to our home, quite unexpected! It does certainly supersede the gadget status, it works!
